La chorégraphe et performeuse autrichienne Florentina Holzinger représentera l’Autriche
à la 61e Exposition internationale d’art – La Biennale di Venezia – avec SEAWORLD VENISE, une nouvelle commande interdisciplinaire audacieuse, sous le commissariat
de Nora-Swantje Almes (Gropius Bau, Berlin). Reconnue pour son œuvre inclassable
qui remet en question les conventions socio-politiques, Holzinger s’appuie sur ses recherches de longue date sur l’élément eau – à la fois sujet et symbole – pour explorer le corps humain dans un paysage en pleine mutation, où nature et technologie s’entrechoquent.
Le projet comprendra une installation permanente et des performances au Pavillon autrichien, ainsi que des études in situ à travers Venise et sa lagune.

The Austrian choreographer and performance artist Florentina Holzinger will represent Austria at the 61st International Art Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia with SEAWORLD VENICE, a bold new interdisciplinary commission, curated by Nora-Swantje Almes (Gropius Bau, Berlin). Known for her genre-defying work that challenges socio-political conventions, Holzinger uses her long-standing research into the element of water—as both subject
and symbol—to explore the human body in a radically changing landscape, in which nature and technology collide. The project will feature a permanent live installation and performances at the Austrian Pavilion, alongside site-specific Études across Venice and its lagoon.
