Nombreux sont ceux qui ont entendu cette phrase immortelle du professeur Silpa Bhirasri.
Il a écrit ce message pour rappeler aux Thaïlandais la perte de l'art et du patrimoine culturel.
« Demain, c'est trop tard. »
« Demain, c'est trop tard. »
Si nous continuons à négliger et à ne pas protéger l'art, les artefacts et les sites historiques aujourd'hui,
ces trésors risquent de se détériorer et d'être définitivement perdus.
Cet article critique également la restauration contraire à l'éthique de sites antiques
pour en faire des attractions touristiques, un problème qui perdure encore aujourd'hui.
Cependant, ce sérieux avertissement a été réinterprété et a inspiré une nouvelle génération
à agir pour réaliser ses propres rêves.
Peut-être est-ce parce que « Demain, c'est trop tard » reflète si bien la réalité du temps,
qu'il s'agisse d'art ou de vie personnelle.

หลายคนอาจเคยได้ยินวลีอมตะนี้ของ ศาสตราจารย์ศิลป์ พีระศรี อาจารย์ได้เขียนข้อความนี้ขึ้นมาเพื่อเตือนคนไทยให้ตระหนักถึงการสูญหายของศิลปะและมรดกทางวัฒนธรรม
”พรุ่งนี้ก็สายเสียแล้ว“ หากเรายังคงละเลยและไม่ลงมือปกป้องศิลปะ โบราณวัตถุ และโบราณสถานตั้งแต่วันนี้ วันข้างหน้าสิ่งล้ำค่าเหล่านี้อาจเสื่อมโทรมและสูญหายไปอย่างถาวร ข้อเขียนนี้ยังวิพากษ์วิจารณ์การซ่อมแซมโบราณสถานที่ผิดหลักการ เพื่อให้กลายเป็นสถานที่ท่องเที่ยว และยังคงเป็นปัญหามาจนถึงทุกวันนี้
อย่างไรก็ตาม คำเตือนที่จริงจังนี้กลับถูกตีความใหม่และกลายเป็นแรงบันดาลใจให้คนรุ่นใหม่หันมาลงมือทำเพื่อความฝันของตัวเอง นั่นอาจเป็นเพราะ ”พรุ่งนี้ก็สายเสียแล้ว“ สะท้อนสัจธรรมของเวลาได้เป็นอย่างดี ไม่ว่าจะเป็นเรื่องศิลปะ หรือเรื่องชีวิตส่วนตัว
วันศิลป์ พีระศรีนี้ ลองมาทบทวนกันใหม่ว่า เราจะช่วยกันดูแลและรักษาศิลปะอันเป็นรากฐานของชาติได้อย่างไรบ้าง

“Tomorrow is too late” means that if we continue to neglect and fail to take action in protecting art, artifacts, and historical sites today, these invaluable treasures may deteriorate and disappear forever. His writing also criticized the improper restoration of monuments, transforming them merely into tourist attractions, an issue that remains a challenge for Thai society to this very day.
Nevertheless, this serious warning has since been reinterpreted, becoming a source of inspiration for younger generations to act upon their own dreams. Perhaps this is because “Tomorrow is too late” reflects the undeniable truth of time itself, whether in art or in life.
