Le Prix Pictet Human présente le travail de douze photographes exceptionnels, sélectionnés pour Human, la dixième édition du prix. Leurs œuvres constituent une exploration percutante des différentes facettes
du thème.
À leur manière, chacun des photographes sélectionnés explore notre humanité commune et le vaste spectre de nos interactions avec le monde. Leur travail évalue notre rôle de gardiens de la planète et met en lumière la question cruciale du développement durable mondial, préoccupation centrale du Prix Pictet depuis sa création en 2008.
Dans son introduction à la publication qui accompagne l'exposition, le président du jury indépendant, Sir David King, déclare : « Depuis neuf éditions consécutives, le Prix Pictet met en lumière certains des enjeux de développement durable les plus urgents de notre époque. Des périls d'une croissance effrénée et de la surconsommation au réchauffement climatique catastrophique et à l'élévation du niveau de la mer [...], ces œuvres nous alertent tous sur les menaces auxquelles nous sommes confrontés et sur la diminution rapide des options pour y parvenir. » C'est précisément pourquoi les brillants conteurs visuels impliqués dans chaque cycle du Prix Pictet sont si importants. Les douze artistes présélectionnés pour Human ne font pas exception.

Prix Pictet Human showcases the work of twelve outstanding photographers shortlisted for Human, the tenth cycle of the award. Their work constitutes a powerful exploration of the various facets of the theme.
In their own unique way, each of the shortlisted photographers explores our shared humanity and the vast spectrum of our interactions with the world. Their work evaluates our role as stewards of the planet and highlights the critical issue of global sustainability
- the central concern of the Prix Pictet since its inception in 2008.
In his introduction to the publication that accompanies the exhibition, the chair of the independent jury, Sir David King, says, 'For nine consecutive cycles, the Prix Pictet has shone a spotlight on some of the most urgent sustainability issues of our time. From the perils of unhindered growth and over-consumption to the catastrophic warming of the planet and rising sea levels [...] this work alerts us all to the threats we face and the rapidly diminishing array of options for a positive outcome.
This is exactly why the brilliant visual storytellers involved in each cycle of the Prix Pictet are so important. The twelve artists shortlisted for Human are no exception.'
